Why Are You Wasting Your Time?

First, let me get this off my chest, TIME WAITS FOR NOONE!

Push something to an extreme and postponement can become permanent. Most of us think we can cut a deal with God to make time stand still for us, holding off on anything important until we’re ready to participate in it. It just doesn’t work like that. When you gamble with your time, you may be placing a bet you can’t cover. Even if you’re sure you can win, be careful that you can live with what you lose.

Saying you’re going to start that business, join dance classes, learn another language, make amends with a lost friend, go back to school one day, join the gym, start making healthier eating choices, forgive someone, stop gossiping, launch your website, buy a home, save money, start visiting family more often, spend more quality time with your children…is just a bunch of talk and time does not pause for talk.

Stop falling into the ‘balance’ story. There is no such thing. To have balance is a lie. When you act on priority, you’ll automatically go out of balance, giving more time to one thing over another…so there’s no such thing as balance. The challenge then doesn’t become one of not going out of balance, for in fact you must. The challenge becomes how long you stay on your priority. To be able to address your priorities, be clear about your most important priorities so you can get things done.

When you’re suppose to be working, work, and when you’re suppose to be playing, play. It’s a weird tightrope you’re walking, but it’s only when you get your priorities mixed up that things fall apart.

” We are kept from our goal, not by obstacles but by a clear path to a lesser goal.” – Robert Brault
